What is ValixData?
+
ValixData is a financial intelligence platform built for finance professionals who work without a $20,000/year data terminal. It gives you institutional-grade market intelligence — live data, AI analysis, overnight briefs — calibrated to your exact profession.
Which terminals are available?
+
130 professions including Private Equity, Venture Capital, Real Estate, M&A Advisory, Credit, Hedge Funds, Fixed Income, Energy, Technology, Healthcare, and more. Use
Find My Terminal to get matched to yours.
Can I use ValixData on mobile?
+
Yes — fully responsive on all devices. A native iOS and Android app is on the roadmap for Q3 2026.
How do I get started?
+
Create a free account, pick your terminal, and you're live in under 2 minutes. No IT setup, no enterprise contract, no credit card required during your 14-day trial. When you open your terminal for the first time, a 3-step onboarding sequence walks you through ARIA, NOVA, and your first query — including four suggested questions specific to your profession. ARIA fires immediately on your first query, so you're working from day one.
What is ARIA?
+
ARIA is ValixData's data intelligence AI. Ask any question about your profession — she answers with structured data context grounded in live market data. Every response cites a confidence level and data sources. ARIA surfaces information — the analysis and decision are always yours. ARIA is not a generic chatbot — she's calibrated to your specific terminal.
What is NOVA?
+
NOVA is your morning intelligence brief, delivered by email at 6am ET. It synthesizes overnight market moves, SEC filings, and key data signals specific to your terminal — in four sections: OVERNIGHT (the primary signal that moved while you slept), THE DATA (the numbers behind it with sourcing), WHAT TO WATCH TODAY (where to focus your attention), and ONE THING YOU DIDN'T EXPECT (a proactive signal ARIA surfaced that you didn't ask for). Not a newsletter. Terminal-specific intelligence ready before your day starts. The NOVA email is fully mobile-optimized — built to be read on your phone at 6am.
Why does ARIA sometimes say it is not confident?
+
ARIA is deliberately calibrated to flag uncertainty. A LOW CONFIDENCE rating means the underlying data is sparse, conflicting, or stale. This is by design — we would rather surface uncertainty than give you false confidence before a high-stakes decision.
Is ARIA storing my conversations?
+
ARIA conversations may be logged for quality and debugging, but zero data retention means your queries are never used to train any AI model — ours or anyone else's. Your questions and your context stay yours.
How do I use Document Analysis?
+
Go to
Document Analysis, upload any PDF (CIM, 10-K, term sheet, earnings call transcript, board deck), and ARIA will extract and structure the key intelligence in about 90 seconds.
What is the Report Builder?
+
Report Builder generates board-ready reports, LP letters, deal summaries, and market updates in 90 seconds. Choose your report type, terminal, audience, and tone — ARIA does the writing.
How current is the data?
+
Market data (FRED, Polygon, EIA) refreshes every 2–4 hours. News via GNews refreshes every 30 minutes. SEC filings are monitored continuously. Every data tile shows its source and timestamp — nothing is undated.
What data sources does ValixData use?
+
FRED (St. Louis Federal Reserve), Polygon.io, EIA (Energy Information Administration), BLS (Bureau of Labor Statistics), SEC EDGAR, ICE BofA bond indices (HY OAS, IG OAS), MSCI equity indices, Morningstar ETF data, Moody's credit ratings, GNews for news synthesis, and NYMEX commodity pricing. Sources are credited on every data point. See the full list at
Data Sources.
Is the data accurate?
+
All data is sourced from primary, authoritative APIs. ARIA's synthesis and interpretation are AI-generated and must be verified before acting on them. We are a decision-support tool, not a licensed financial data provider.
How does the 14-day trial work?
+
Full access to all features in your chosen plan tier for 14 days. No charge until the trial ends. Cancel anytime before day 14 — no questions asked, no retention calls, no hidden fees.
What is the difference between plans?
+
Analyst ($199/mo): 1 terminal, ARIA unlimited queries, NOVA brief daily, live data from FRED/BLS/EIA, full Intelligence Hub.
Professional ($499/mo): Up to 3 terminals, ARIA with professional memory, signal watch alerts, document intelligence, all 6 analytical modes.
Executive ($799/mo): All 130 terminals, full live data suite, API access, priority ARIA response.
CIO ($999/mo): Everything in Executive, plus dedicated onboarding, custom NOVA format, multi-terminal dashboard, and early access to new features. All plans save 15% when billed annually. See
Pricing for full feature breakdown.
How do I cancel?
+
Cancel anytime from Account → Billing. Access continues until the end of your current billing period. No cancellation fees, no retention calls. If you cancel during a trial, you are never charged.
Do you offer enterprise or team plans?
+
Yes. Enterprise plans include custom terminal limits, team seats, SSO, API access, and a dedicated account manager.
Contact us and we typically respond within one business day.
How do I change my terminal?
+
Go to Account → Terminals. You can add or switch terminals up to your plan limit. Not sure which terminal fits? Use
Find My Terminal — ARIA matches you to the right profession.
Can I export my data?
+
Professional plan and above can export conversation history and professional memory as JSON from Account → Settings. Report Builder outputs can be copied or downloaded as PDF.
I forgot my password.
+
Use
Forgot Password on the login page. A reset link is sent to your registered email within a few minutes. Check spam if you don't see it.
How do I update my email or billing details?
+
Log in and go to Account → Settings for email changes, or Account → Billing for payment method updates. Changes take effect immediately.
Is my data safe?
+
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). We do not sell user data to third parties under any circumstances. ARIA queries have zero data retention for AI training. See our
Security page for the full breakdown.
How do I report a security issue?
+
Contact us directly via the
contact form. Security reports are treated as highest priority and we respond within 24 hours. Please do not post security issues publicly until we've had a chance to investigate.
What are Watch Alerts?
+
Watch Alerts let you set threshold conditions on any market signal — HY OAS above 325bps, SOFR moves 25bps, 10Y UST drops below 4%, anything you track. When the condition is met, ARIA checks the live data and emails you immediately with context: what crossed, the historical context for that threshold, and what data points are most relevant to that crossing. Set alerts at
Watch Alerts.
How do I set a Watch Alert?
+
Go to
Watch Alerts from your account or the terminal nav. Choose a signal (HY OAS, SOFR, 10Y UST, VIX, IG OAS), set the direction (above / below), and enter your threshold. You can also use the preset chips for common professional thresholds. Alerts are checked every 2–4 hours against live FRED data.
How many alerts can I set?
+
Analyst plan: 5 alerts. Professional: 20. Executive: 50. CIO: 200. If you hit your limit, upgrade your plan or delete an existing alert to make room.
What does the alert email contain?
+
Every alert email shows the signal, the threshold that was crossed, the time it fired, and — most importantly — an ARIA context section that explains what this threshold crossing may suggest for a professional in your role. It's labeled "ARIA inference — not investment advice" so you always know what's data and what's analysis.
Can I pause or delete an alert?
+
Yes — go to
Watch Alerts, find the alert, and click the × button to delete it. There is no pause option currently; delete and re-create if you want to temporarily disable one.
What emails does ValixData send?
+
NOVA Brief — daily at 6am ET, your terminal's overnight intelligence. Weekly Memo — every Friday at 4pm ET, the week synthesized for your sector. Watch Alerts — immediate, when your threshold is crossed. Product updates — new features and improvements, max 2/month. Tips & use cases — optional, how other professionals use the platform. Billing and security emails are always on and can't be turned off.
How do I control which emails I receive?
+
Go to
Email Preferences — linked in the footer of every page. You can turn off NOVA briefs, the weekly memo, watch alerts, product updates, and tips independently. Billing and security emails cannot be turned off because they contain information you need about your account.
What is the Weekly Intelligence Memo?
+
Every Friday at 4pm ET, ARIA synthesizes the week for your sector and sends a structured memo: the three things that mattered, what the data suggests going forward, and what to watch next week. It's 3–5 minutes to read and designed to be forwarded to your team or used to frame a Monday morning. Paying subscribers only. Manage at
Email Preferences.
Can I get the NOVA brief without a paid account?
+
Yes — enter your email on the
homepage in the "Get NOVA free" strip. Choose your sector, and your morning brief arrives at 6am ET with no account required. The free brief is the same ARIA synthesis paying subscribers receive for that terminal. You can upgrade to a full account anytime.
I'm not receiving my NOVA brief.
+
Check your spam folder first — add the sending address to your contacts. Then check
Email Preferences to confirm NOVA brief is enabled. If you subscribed via the homepage free subscribe, verify your email in
My Account. If still not arriving,
contact support with your account email.
Will I get a warning before I'm charged?
+
Yes — 7 days before every renewal you receive a "Heads up — renewal in 7 days" email with the exact amount, charge date, and card on file. There are no surprise charges. If anything looks wrong, reply to that email before the charge date and we'll fix it.
How do I unsubscribe from everything?
+
Go to
Email Preferences and turn off everything except billing and security (which are required). To cancel your account entirely, go to
My Billing → Cancel Plan. If you subscribed to the free NOVA brief only, reply to any brief with "unsubscribe" in the subject line.
How do I navigate back to the main site from a terminal?
+
Every terminal page has a "Platform ▾" dropdown button in the top-right corner of the nav. Click it to access Home, All Terminals, Find My Terminal, Blog, Pricing, ARIA guide, About, FAQ, Account, Billing, Help, and Sign In — the full site navigation without leaving your terminal context.
How do I request a new feature?
+
Go to
Feature Requests — linked in the footer. Submit an idea, or vote on requests others have made. When a feature you requested or voted for ships, you'll get an email: "You asked for this. We built it." We read every request and respond to anything that gets 10+ votes.
What is the Help Center vs the full FAQ?
+
The
Help Center is a searchable self-service page with instant answers to the most common questions, direct links to account actions, and a contact form at the bottom. The
Full FAQ has 44+ questions across all topics. This help page covers platform usage in more depth.
How do I find the right terminal for my role?
+
Use
Find My Terminal — answer 3 questions about your profession, sector, and focus, and ARIA matches you to the right terminal in under 60 seconds. Or browse
all 130 terminals by category. You can change terminals anytime from your account.
How do I report a problem with an ARIA output?
+
Click the ⚑ Flag issue button that appears at the bottom of every ARIA output. Select the issue type (incorrect data, outdated, missing context, misleading framing), add optional detail, and submit. Your report goes directly to our team — you'll receive a personal acknowledgment, and we'll follow up if we make a correction. We review every report.
How do I share an ARIA output with a colleague?
+
Click the ⬆ Copy to share button at the bottom of any ARIA output. It copies a clean, formatted version of the analysis — with a professional header (terminal, date), the full text, and source attribution at the bottom — ready to paste into Slack, email, or a document. The copy always includes "ARIA inference — not investment advice" so the framing is clear to whoever receives it.
What do the LIVE DATA, AI ANALYSIS, and NEWS labels mean?
+
Every piece of content on your terminal is labeled by type: LIVE DATA (green) — a value from a primary institutional source like FRED, SEC, or EIA, shown with a source citation and timestamp. AI ANALYSIS (blue) — ARIA's synthesis and inference, which may be incomplete or wrong. NEWS (amber) — from an external news source, not produced or verified by ValixData. These labels are there so you always know what you're looking at.
How do I use the ARIA bar at the bottom of every page?
+
The ARIA bar is a persistent floating input at the bottom-right of every page. Just type your question in the field — it says "May I help you?" — and press Ask or hit Enter. Your answer appears above the bar immediately; no pop-ups, no extra clicks. The bar stays visible so you can ask follow-up questions any time without navigating away.
How do I speak a question to ARIA instead of typing?
+
Click the microphone icon in the ARIA bar. Your browser will ask for microphone permission the first time. Once granted, speak your question clearly and then pause — ARIA will transcribe it and respond automatically. A "Listening…" overlay confirms the mic is active. Click the microphone button again (or tap "Stop listening") to cancel at any time. Voice input works best in Chrome, Edge, and Safari.
What does the speaker / voice icon do in the ARIA bar?
+
The speaker icon is a voice-reply toggle. When it is lit gold, ARIA will automatically read each answer aloud as soon as it arrives — hands-free mode. Click it again to turn voice off. You can also read any individual response aloud by clicking the "Read aloud" button that appears below each ARIA reply. A gold wave bar at the bottom of the screen confirms audio is playing; click "Stop" to end playback at any time.
How do I hide or remove the ARIA bar?
+
Click the × button on the far right of the ARIA bar. The bar will disappear and a small "ARIA" pill will appear in the bottom-right corner instead — click it any time to bring ARIA back. Your choice is saved across page loads so ARIA stays hidden until you choose to restore it.
Is there a keyboard shortcut to open or focus ARIA?
+
Press \ (backslash) from anywhere on any page to instantly focus the ARIA input bar. Press Escape to collapse the chat history panel. Use Enter to send a message and Shift + Enter to add a new line without sending.
Does ARIA remember what I asked before?
+
Within a session, yes — ARIA has context from your recent queries on a given terminal. The last 20 queries are stored locally in your browser (not on our servers) and surface in a "Recent on this terminal" dropdown when you focus the ARIA input bar. This helps ARIA maintain context across a working session without storing anything on our end.
What is the Intelligence Memo feature?
+
From any terminal, click ✍ Intelligence Memo in the toolbar. ARIA generates a structured market context memo for whatever situation you're facing — board deck, IC meeting, client briefing, internal strategy update. It uses your terminal's live data and current market conditions. Takes about 90 seconds and produces something ready to edit and use.
What is the Signal Engine?
+
The Signal Engine delivers four categories of intelligence beyond the standard ARIA query: signal detection (earnings surprises, sentiment shifts before they're consensus), trade ideas (decision frameworks grounded in live data), cross-asset patterns (correlations that precede moves in your sector), and alpha signals (upstream data from SEC filings, Fed speeches, BLS releases — before sell-side coverage catches up). Access from the terminal toolbar under Signals.
How do I know if a data point is live or estimated?
+
Every data value on your terminal carries a label. A green LIVE DATA badge means the value came from a primary institutional source in the last 2–4 hours, with a timestamp. An AI ANALYSIS badge means ARIA synthesized or estimated the value — treat it differently. We never mix live data and AI inference without labeling the distinction.
What happens if a data source goes down?
+
Our data quality monitor checks all sources every 30 minutes. If a source fails, the affected data tiles show a grey "Source degraded" status badge instead of a value. If a source error affected data you may have seen, we email all affected users with what was wrong, what the corrected value is, and when it was fixed — before you find out any other way.
How do I report a data error?
+
Click the ⚑ Flag issue button on any terminal output, select "Incorrect data," and describe what you expected to see. Or use the
Help Center contact form with "Data accuracy report" as the topic. We investigate every data report within one business day and follow up with the outcome.
How does the renewal reminder work?
+
Seven days before any billing renewal you receive a "Heads up — renewal in 7 days" email with the exact charge amount, date, card on file, and a direct link to manage or cancel. No action needed if you want to continue. No surprises.
Is there a discount for annual billing?
+
Yes — all plans save 15% when billed annually. Analyst drops from $199/mo to $169.20/mo, Professional from $499/mo to $424.20/mo, Executive from $799/mo to $679.20/mo, and CIO from $999/mo to $849.20/mo. Toggle between monthly and annual on the
Pricing page to see the exact amounts. You can switch billing cycles from Account → Billing anytime.
Can I expense ValixData?
+
Yes — individual plans run $199–$999/month, which is expensable at most firms the same way you'd expense a research subscription, professional publication, or data service. No procurement approval required at typical expense policy limits.
How do I see what features I haven't tried yet?
+
After your third visit to a terminal, a small discovery card appears in the bottom-right corner of the screen highlighting features you haven't explored yet — Watch Alerts, Document Intelligence, the Weekly Memo, Signal Engine, and the Intelligence Memo generator. It appears 8 seconds after you land, never during active work, and rotates through features until you've seen them all.
